According to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.332(c), mandatory safety training is “either classroom or on-the-job type” of instruction. Amp Safety does not support E-learning as a standalone training solution. However, E-learning can play a vital role in the electrical safety training process. All too often we sense a disconnect from attendees of our NFPA 70E (2024 Edition) Qualified Electrical Worker - 8 Hour (NFPAQEW-8) instruction due to some personnel being unfamiliar with common electrical safety principles and terminology. A very simple solution to this problem is to incorporate E-learning on the front-end of an instructor-led, abbreviated classroom Qualified Electrical Worker instruction. This insures that the entire NFPAQEW-8 curriculum isn’t as overwhelming due to the sheer amount of critical information being imparted.

Amp Safety has found that personnel who have first gone through the E-learning modules are more engaged and open to dialogue about applying the common principles of electrical safety previously learned through the E-learning modules (and confirmed learned). Additionally, the E-learning option insures that new-hires can be immediately introduced to the common principles of Electrical Safety while waiting for the next instructor-led, classroom style training portion to be held at a later date.

We are working on a hybrid solution that matches OSHA requirements, yet allows for a blend of E-Learning modules and hands on verification. Keep an eye out for our big announcement Q4 2023!
