Unqualified Personnel (Electrical Awareness) - 2 Hour

The NFPA 70E (2024 Edition) definition of an unqualified personnel “someone who is not a qualified person” is, in our opinion, not much help. Amp Safety prefers to use the following definition: An individual who works in an area where energized electrical work may be performed, and therefore, requires Electrical Awareness training to work in the area. They shall be trained to identify general energized electrical work hazards and know how to avoid them.

The 2 hour Unqualified Personnel Electrical Awareness course accomplishes 3 critical factors when considering electrical safety.

  1. Recognize the hazards associated with electricity

  2. Identify and Avoid common electrical hazards

  3. Follow safe work practices around electrical equipment

If you have personnel that will never be exposed to, or come in close contact to, exposed and energized electrical conductors (remember the #1 rule of electrical safety), this instruction is a perfect solution. We will cover the basic electrical safety principles and spend the rest of the instruction focussing on the specific hazards of electricity and how to avoid them.

Amp Safety recognizes that your specific facility may have very specific electrical hazards so we will allow a certain amount of customization of this curriculum to include pictures and descriptions of certain electrical components at no additional charge.

Standard onsite instructor-led training:
